Otto International is seeking for an experienced Quality Assurance Technician to join our Shanghai team. In this role, you will ensure that the quality of goods meet the requirements of customer and ensure inspector has sufficient information to conduct inspection. You will monitor vendor / manufacturer’s quality performance and give them advice and instructions, when necessary, on how to improve and maintain quality level, and provide technical support to merchandiser in order to increase potential business as well as to balance delivery risks.

How will you make a difference?

Guided by supervisor, be constantly involved in product development and supplier sourcing for customers, to maintain competitiveness and enhance business
Determine product specifications like testing/certificate program, quality & workmanship requirements
Work with and explain to all suppliers our product specifications
Provide support to the QC team for efficient inspection service
Pre-production control by: 1. conducting sample pre-check, dispatch and issue reports accordingly, 2. Conducting pre-production meeting and pre-inline in the factory, when necessary
Serve as a consultant on technical issues
Monitor and manage vendor’s for continuous quality KPI improvement (rejection ratio & claim ratio); Regularly visit suppliers and factories, when necessary
Assist customer for continuous quality improvement, like return rate
Perform other duties as assigned by management

Who are we looking for?

Minimum 3 years’ quality engineering experience for home appliance product
Preferably from buying office/trading; factory experience is a plus
Diploma or above graduate on Engineering or related subjects
Has good experience of product development
Good technical knowledge on relative product and a good understanding of manufacturing process
Solid knowledge on the International Safety Standard (EN, IEC), and solid experience in quality assurance and quality control
Good command of written and spoken English and Mandarin
Proficient in MS Office applications, including Outlook, Exchange, Word and Excel

Sales-driven orientation and good people management skills
Good at analysing figures and problem solving
Good communication and interpersonal skills with all levels and can work with overseas teams, staffs and vendors
Able to work under high pressure and accept the challenge
Able to foresee production risks and provide workable solution
Solid experience in & knowledge of German market is a strong advantage

Fabric Specialist- Shanghai

We are looking for an experienced Fabric Specialist to support customer on fabric sourcing in China and SEA in obtaining transparency of fabric source and building up vendor frame of fabric mill and to achieve corporate targets in terms of delivery performance, quality performance, speed and flexibility.

How will you make a difference?

Develop and source high quality & price competitive fabric, to maintain competitiveness of product
Develop and nurture business partnerships with other internal departments and external entities, like fabric suppliers, in order to meeting customer requirements
Visit the fabric suppliers and factories on a regular basis
Assist buying team to implement the fabric nomination & blocking
Color & bulk approval for nominated qualities
Develop and maintain fabric supplier frame in China and SEA
Review and maintain the fabric library in OI China office
Conduct fabric mill audit and monitor the mill performance at regular basis
Conduct regular market research on current sources of supply, trends, migration and relocation of sources
Educate merchandise team on fabric knowledge
Solve the issue between garment vendor and fabric supplier on daily operation

Who are we looking for?

At least 8 years or above working experience in technical / fabric quality or fabric sourcing function
BA degree in product development, textiles or equivalent disciplines
Domestic as well as overseas fabric sourcing and negotiation experience required
Having an intimate knowledge of fabric production process in weaving/knitting, dyeing and other process in entire fabric production
Good understanding on the concept of sustainable fabrics from all aspects
Intermediate to advanced in MS Office and Office365
Good command of spoken and written English
Good communication skills, self-motivated, team player and able to work under pressure
Willing to travel
